How to Get Beautiful Legs?
I. -With a good level of skin hydration
II. -Slim and well-toned legs
III. -With smooth skin without cellulite
IV. -Without broken capillaries or varicose veins
1. Good level of skin hydration (+1 weekly exfoliation).
There are women who tend to have dry skin, especially from the knee down. These are usually patients who also tend to have drier skin on their feet. Lack of skin hydration detracts from beauty; to have velvet-like skin, it is necessary for it to be well hydrated.
This has a simple solution. Simply applying a body moisturizing cream such as Eucerin pH 5.5 once a day is usually sufficient. For foot skin hydration, there are specific products with greater moisturizing capacity. Moisturizing creams increase the skin’s water retention capacity, preventing it from drying out.
Along with hydration, performing at least one exfoliation of the skin of the entire legs once a week is very effective for maintaining the skin’s radiance.
2. Slim and well-toned legs
For this, aerobic physical exercise is key. Exercise tones the leg muscles both at the thigh and calf level and narrows the contour of the legs at all levels. Some of the most effective exercises are step classes and elliptical machines. But running or brisk walking also works. For exercise to show its effectiveness, it is necessary to do it for a minimum of 45 minutes three times a week.
But there are times when there are localized fat accumulations in the saddlebag area or on the inner side of the knees or thighs. For this problem, the ideal and definitive solution we suggest to patients at IML is Lipolaser®. It consists of eliminating fat accumulations through an optical fiber that is introduced under the skin of the area with accumulations and (under local anesthesia) eliminates the accumulated fat and tightens the skin. It requires a compression garment for 4 days and only 24 hours of rest. The patient can be exposed to the sun normally (honeymoon) in three weeks. PVP from 2200€.
When the patient’s problem is the tendency to retain fluids and their legs swell, the treatment of choice is Vascular Mesotherapy (in which we mainly use venous tonics to improve edema and microcirculation) combined with Pressotherapy, which is applied afterwards in the same session.
In these cases, exercise also helps the patient a lot to improve circulation and edema. Express Treatment for Brides: 2 weekly sessions for 5 weeks. PVP 10 Vascular Mesotherapy sessions 615€ and Pneumatic Pressotherapy price 10 sessions 360€.
3. Smooth skin without cellulite
On many occasions, the problem is more the texture of the skin than the localized fat accumulations. It is the insidious cellulite that ends up affecting more than 90% of women (although to a different degree of extension and severity depending on the case).
To treat skin texture and eliminate cellulite or orange peel skin (or quilted effect) at IML we have different protocols depending on whether it is fibrous or hard cellulite, edematous cellulite or flaccid cellulite.
For me, the ideal treatment for cellulite that we offer at IML is a combination of Volumetric Carboxytherapy and Microvacuum Therapy.
For an Express treatment before a wedding, we perform two sessions per week for 5 weeks. The patient can be exposed to the sun as soon as the treatment ends. PVP 10 Volumetric Carboxytherapy sessions 715€ and 10 Microvacuum Therapy sessions 620€.
4. Skin without varicose veins or broken capillaries
The appearance of varicose veins or spider veins is conditioned by family tendency, continued bipedalism and other factors, but they also appear more frequently in patients who take the pill, due to the vascular impact that the estrogens in the pill have on the leg veins.
Fine capillaries (reddish or bluish) may appear without larger veins being affected, or slightly thicker veins may appear.
Our treatment of choice is Photodynamic Therapy for Varicose Veins, which is currently an international patent of IML and UCM. The treatment consists of using photosensitizing substances that are introduced under ultrasound control with micro-needles inside the dilated varicose veins and then firing with a neodymium-yag laser that will photocoagulate and eliminate them forever.
The treatment is performed in a single session but we usually schedule a touch-up. The patient should not be exposed to the sun until one month after the touch-up. Therefore, it is a treatment that should be attended at least 4 months before the wedding. PVP from 1200€ depending on the extent and severity. The treatment includes a 2-year guarantee to verify the total effectiveness of the result.
