Instructions
Face
Wash your face carefully with your usual cleanser, lotion or soap to remove dirt, natural oil buildup and makeup. Dry your skin with gentle pats of the towel and apply a light moisturizing cream all over your face and neck. Work the cream with your fingers, rubbing outward in circles.
Apply foundation all over your face. Use a translucent product or a color that matches your skin tone. Blend the foundation completely so there are no dividing lines along the jaw, forehead or cheeks. This product helps keep makeup in place. Let the foundation set for about three minutes before applying makeup. Once dry, apply a liquid or cream makeup that matches your skin tone and blend well to create a smooth, even canvas on which to add the rest of the color.
«Dip» an angled blush brush into a powder makeup or bronzing powders two shades darker than your natural tone. Gently tap the brush on the edge of the container to remove excess powder. «Suck» your cheeks in and apply the powder along the hollows that form. Move the brush in a diagonal line from the bottom of your cheek hollow to fading into the hairline. Do this on both sides of the face, the temples and the jaw. Then blend well with a rubber sponge. This will make your face appear slimmer and with a more defined contour.
Add a little of your favorite blush to a large, soft, fluffy blush brush and remove excess powder. Use semicircular outward movements from the face to color the apples of your cheeks and extend toward the temples. Do this step while smiling, as your cheeks puff out slightly highlighting that elevated area you should make up.
Apply a small amount of blush to the area that remains between the fold up to where the dark powder makeup reaches and the apples of the cheeks. Slide the brush back and forth along the diagonal line to blend the colors. When finished, «sweep» a little translucent powder all over the face to set the blush and makeup.
Use a kabuki brush to take a light, bright highlighter or eyeshadow – try a white or light pink pearlescent color – and apply it to the upper half of the cheeks. Extend the highlighter to the temples. This will give your face an unexpected touch of light.
Nose
Apply foundation all over your face and let it dry for five minutes. Blend a little liquid makeup matching your skin tone outward on the cheeks, chin and forehead. Mix well with your fingers or a rubber sponge so there are no dividing lines.
Use an angled eyeshadow brush and add a little makeup that is two shades darker than your natural skin tone along both sides of the bridge of the nose, starting at the inner corner of the eye. Make vertical movements from side to side to blend the color well.
«Dip» a large, fluffy blush brush into a powder highlighter and add a little «light» along the bridge of your nose. This will emphasize the bridge, making your nose appear finer and straighter.
