Peeling is based on the elimination of a part of the epidermis so that it then regenerates. Different techniques can be used:
Chemical agents.
Laser.
Microdermabrasion.
This way, skin spots, small wrinkles and scars such as those caused by acne can be eliminated, while returning the skin’s natural luminosity and improving its quality by favoring the increase of collagen and elastin.
Peeling can be performed on different layers of the skin depending on the therapeutic objective:
The superficial part improves the quality of the skin.
Medium, indicated for fine wrinkles.

For the performance of peeling, different chemical compounds are used, depending on the objective of the treatment and the depth at which it is applied on the skin:
Lactic acid: has hydrating and renewing properties of the skin. Used to treat spots and certain types of acne.
Glycolic acid: achieves good penetration into the skin. Can irritate. Indicated for spots, aging and non-inflammatory acne.
Salicylic acid: penetrates easily into the pores of the skin and has an antiseptic effect, so it is very useful for reducing inflammation of acne lesions. It has also shown benefits in the elimination of spots.
Mandelic acid: has the advantage of not producing as much irritation as glycolic acid, which guides its use in more sensitive skins, especially regarding spots and acne.
Retinoic acid: useful for treating skin aging and non-inflammatory acne.
Trichloroacetic acid: indicated in the treatment of deeper scars and very photoaged skin. It should always be performed on fair skin.
Microdermabrasion is an aesthetic procedure that removes the outer layers of cells in the skin using diamond tip. The results are similar to those obtained with chemical peeling, but with more depth and in a less aggressive way. It is ideal for the natural regeneration of the skin, which favors the elimination of wrinkles and scars.
