You only need to use your own hands to benefit from all the advantages of facial massage: more elastic skin, a more relaxed appearance, a brighter complexion… We teach you how to do it at home!
The vast majority of high-end cosmetics companies rediscovered the benefits of facial massage years ago, and many of their cosmetic treatments are applied with these manual movements to achieve perfect results. Facial massage helps the skin increase the natural production of collagen and elastin, the substances that bind the skin and keep it elastic and flexible. Massages on the face also activate blood circulation, favoring a greater supply of oxygen to the facial area. At home, you can also achieve fantastic results by massaging your face yourself. You only need a serum suitable for your skin type, or your facial moisturizer, to which you can add a few drops of essential oil to multiply the beneficial effects of the massage on your skin. Especially recommended are rosehip oil, wheat germ oil or almond oil. Any treatment you follow for facial care will be much more effective if you apply it with a massage, as the cosmetic active ingredients penetrate better into the skin.
How Is It Done?
Before starting any type of massage on the face, it is advisable to deeply remove makeup, to remove any makeup residue or dirt. Apply toner with a cotton ball. With the skin clean, start the massage, always from the décolletage towards the chin, since the neck is fundamental in this massage. Pass your fingers with open hands, alternately, until you reach the chin. The movements should be firm and somewhat fast. Start from the center and gradually open the movements towards the shoulders. On the neck, the movements should always be upward, to help combat the double chin effect.
Then, from the chin, go up to the cheeks drawing small circles with the fingertips. On the sides of the nose, draw the circles with your thumbs. In the lip area, pass the open hand from side to side to massage from right to left and back, with the index finger on the upper lip and the middle finger under the lower lip. If you do it alternately with both hands, you will enhance the result.
On the forehead, start massaging just above the nose, between the eyebrows, and ascend upward and towards the temples. Finish with a massage with open palms, from side to side. Finish the massage with ascending rotational movements just above the eyebrows, in the center, to help lift the eyelids.
