Vegetable Oils: An Effective Natural Makeup Remover
Vegetable oils, due to their chemical structure, are a good ally when it comes to removing all makeup residue from the skin, regardless of whether it is waterproof or not, and without damaging the skin or being abrasive (as happens with many commercial products we commonly find).
In addition, due to their emollient and hydrating properties, they will help care for our skin, especially during the low temperatures of this season.
Two good oils for this purpose would be sweet almond oil and olive oil. They are easy to find and their price is economical compared to other oils whose extraction difficulty or scarcity considerably increase their cost.
How to Use Them
To achieve optimal results, it is recommended to deposit a small amount of oil on the hands and massage it into the face and neck with circular movements to facilitate the removal of makeup. Once we have impregnated the entire skin and the makeup residues have begun to detach and mix with the oil, we will carefully remove it with makeup remover discs or cotton balls until the skin is free of residue.
To achieve greater cleanliness, it is recommended to rinse afterwards with warm water to remove the last traces and reduce excess oil.
Since water will not remove all the oil, we will be favoring skin hydration since it will continue to absorb the remaining oil.
Afterwards, we can apply our usual toner (especially if we don’t like the sensation of the skin after using oil) and/or our moisturizer if we consider it necessary to provide an extra boost to the skin.
