Habits to be happy and improve your well-being

To our fans, clients, friends or family, we always say that the tools of everyday life, of our routine, can become powerful weapons to deal with bad mood, sadness or discomfort. It is enough to take a few minutes a day to do something different, and that will surely help us feel in a different mood. The secret is always consistency.
And among the things we can do daily or at least frequently we find the following:
1) Connect with the people we love: Relationships, as long as they are positive, contribute enormously to our happiness, since they give us meaning, support, love and improve our self-esteem. So let’s not be afraid to deepen those bonds that do us so much good.
2) Learn, always learn: Learning contributes to our well-being because it exposes us to new ideas and satisfies our curiosity. It gives us a feeling of having achieved something, which has a direct impact on our confidence. And by learning I am not only referring strictly to academic learning; it can also be learning a new skill, doing a sport, getting involved in something artistic.
3) Be part of something big: Anyone fortunate enough to find purpose and meaning in their life feels better about what they do and feels more in control of their destiny. This feeling also contributes to suffering less depression, anxiety or stress. This feeling of being part of something bigger than oneself has to do with various elements such as feeling connected to the spiritual, doing work that involves helping others, getting involved in some organization, whatever has important meaning for you.
4) Take care of our body: Being more active makes us happier and contributes to our physical well-being. It has a direct effect on our mood. It is not necessary to do strenuous physical activities; it is enough to sleep enough, be outdoors for longer, disconnect from technology and do small activities such as walking or dancing.
5) Be aware of what surrounds us: Being aware of our world, of the details of situations, being more awake when living experiences improves our well-being. It helps us connect with our feelings, with the now and leave behind thoughts tied to the past or our anxiety about the future.
6) Have goals: Being able to set appropriate goals makes us feel better about our future, motivates us and challenges us. They give us direction and a sense of achievement and satisfaction when we finally achieve them.
7) Do things for others: Always keeping in mind that others are equally (not more) important than us, it is very beneficial to get involved in activities that contribute to the well-being of others as well. Helping generates healthy bonds with other people. If we want to feel good, let’s do good!
8) Invite positive emotions into your life: Feeling positive emotions often helps us improve our internal resources, makes us feel good in the present and future, and helps us focus on the things that are working.
9) Feel comfortable with who you are: You already know that perfection doesn’t exist; punishing ourselves for not having achieved a certain thing or for having made a mistake will not lead us anywhere. Accepting ourselves with our virtues and our defects, being aware of our capabilities and our limitations, the simple fact of knowing ourselves, allows us to wisely choose to change what we can or want. Changes have to be from love and from our own acceptance; first we recognize who we are, we allow ourselves to be proud of our positive elements, and if we find something we need to improve, then we try. When we treat ourselves with affection and respect, we will feel happier and more satisfied.
10) Dust yourself off and keep walking: A stumble is not a fall, bad moments exist, slips and mistakes exist, but remember that despite those things we cannot control, we will always have the power to control our attitude and our interpretation of things. It is only a matter of practice.
So starting today, you can begin to use these tools to approach an achievable state of happiness, a state that is built daily and will contribute to a general well-being that will undoubtedly make us feel better, both with ourselves and with the rest of the world.
